Want to try archery?

Our next archery beginners course will start in the Autumn. This is a six week course of weekly lessons. Demand for places is likely to be high so please don't delay if you wish to book a place. If you would like to try our sport but do not want to commit to a course of lessons, why not contact us to arrange a one off 'have a go' session. We can also arrange on-off essions for individuals and groups. These can be full or half day sessions, or even  just a trial 1 hour lesson.  For more details go to: http://www.march-hare-archers.org.uk/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=137&Itemid=74

Shooting Shelter Fund Update

The Fund has received  contributions of £25 from Richard Hardcastle and a further £50 from Claire Thompson and Steve Pridmore, taking our total to £703.  Our thanks go to all who have contributed.

The Club now has a donation tin at the Clubhouse for those who would like to contribute.  All donations, no matter how small, are gratefully received.  It's great to see that we are rapidly getting closer to our target of £1000.

Club Championships

The annual club championships will be held at the club on 24th August 2008. Shooting commences at 10:30 am. This is an open shoot although only club members will be ellible to claim medals and trophies. Visiting archers are more than welcome to shoot the round as a normal classification shoot.

The 'Asset' handicap system will be used to decide the winners of the club champs. This system is based on an archers performance compared to their previous three classification scores. This rewards the improving archer.

If you do not have three classification scores on your card, don't worry. We will count any scores on your old card so long as they were shot in the last 12 months and for the same style. Please bring you old card with you if it shows scores that you would like to have taken into account for your Asset handicap. Archers who do not have three previous score can still shoot, but it means they may have a less favourable handicap.

The medals will be awarded  for adult male/female, junior male/female and cub male/female in the categories of sighted and unsighted shooters. There is also a trophy for the highest scoring team comprising one adult archer and one archer who is either a cub or a junior.

We hope to see you at this shoot.
