Beginners Courses

The club  runs beginners courses from time to time. The next course will commence in October.  If you are interested in booking a place on the next course ,  please contact us via peteclove@hotmail.com

Learn field archery in the heart of England.

A course of six  lessons costs £50 for each person, which includes equipment hire and tuition from our club instructors.

The first lesson is a free, no obligation 'have a go'. If you decide that field archery is not for you there is no charge. We are confident that once you have tried archery with us you will want to come back for more.Should you decide to join our club at the end of the course (we're sure you will), the cost of club membership is £40 per person (adults) per year. This price also includes membership of the English Field Archery Association.

We get you started with proper recurve bows - no sights or gadgets - but you will have the opportunity, should you want, to try out high-tech compound bows during the course. Alternatively, you may wish to try out a more traditional wooden longbow.

Field archery is a sport that can be enjoyed by almost everyone aged about 10 yrs and over. (Due to child protection rules we insist that all children are accompanied by a parent/guardian at all times.) Field archery requires only a moderate degree of fitness and mobility although some young children aged less than 10 yrs may find the physical aspect of the sport too demanding. In such cases, lessons are at the discretion of the instructor.

All lessons conducted on Saturday mornings last from 11 am until approximately 1 pm approx. Any other times or dates are entirely at instructors discretion.

We can also cater for special events for groups and organisations. In the past we have provided 'have a go' stalls at several local fetes and sporting events. Please contact our chairman for more information  about special events: peteclove@hotmail.com

All lessons are held on consecutive at our shooting ground near Throckmorton, Worcestershire. You'll find a map and directions on our Find Us page. From Wolverhampton or Birmingham it will take you just over an hour to get to Throckmorton. From Evesham or Worcester the journey can be done in about 10 minutes. From Gloucester or Cheltenham allow at least 40 minutes.
